I live on the South Side of Chicago.

In 6th grade, I won a $1,000 savings bond and tickets to a women's tennis match in a essay contest. I was supposed to write about what a hero is. I wrote about Christopher Reeve.

When I was in 3rd grade, my mother made the claim that Christopher Reeve was the son of George Reeves, who played Superman on the 1950s television show before allegedly committing suicide. This is not true. She now refuses to admit she ever said this.
